A collegue asked me this the other day, and I didn't have a solid answer.

I'm thinking if you handle the rotation with a spider friendly technology it just might get you spidered more often...almost like blogs?

What do you think?

I don't know if you have to go this far...I think all it takes is minor adjustments and changes.

But, in my opinion and from what I have seen, I think the answer is yes.

iid have to agree with atherhart. Google's freshness features lacks a bit because it cant tell the difference between REAL changes and rotating content or changes made just to get a Fresh tag as far as I can see. Im not sure whether that includes javascript quotes or the day and "Today is blah blah" etc, but i thought GB didnt read JS.

Hopefully that gaping hole will be closed up soon, and freshness will really mean fresh!

the answer is definately yes for our sites where we used that technique for other reasons ... a quote of the day from a random list.

however i fail to see the benefit of more regular spidering unless the page is significantly changed :)
- please someone tell me if i'm missing the point

Chiyo (as usual) is on the money. Just because it gets spidered real often, doesn't mean it gets indexed, or actually affect your rankings or the keywords you are found under. As far as I can tell, the actual value of daily spidering is minimal.
