What I want to know is what order the ranking of TLD's in regards to promotion in SERPs?
I have a .org site, and the way I see it, .org is universal and should be promoted in the same fashion as .com
can anyone shed more light on the way TLD's are involved in search engine positions and exposure? I think this is quite an important thing to know! :)

Sorry Richard, I don't agree with you. It is my understanding that search engines don't care if a site is dot-com, dot-biz, dot-net or dot-org. Well, maybe dot-org's do get a little boost, but I've never seen any hard fact.
The only time where TLD's can make a difference is when you go local. Eg. some danish SE's only show sites in dot-dk.
The content makes the difference ;)
