Alltheweb.com has Beaten Google!

I was just seeing how ATW (Alltheweb) was going and I saw this:
Allweb.com , Currently searching 3,151,743,117 page.
Google , Currently searching 3,083,324,652 pages.

Wow! I mean, I don't use ATW much, but has it beeten Google in their database or is it just Google not updating their "Currently searching 3,083,324,652 pages" on their Index file?

I've been watching ATW's crawling and I must say, it has gone 2 billion Up , in the past Month!

I mean, I think Google is still beeting them in "Cached" version of the page , Google's results for Popular sites has a description and Google has a directory, Google has a cool Toolbar , Google has the "Similar pages" version , Google has a Fresh crawling BOT, Google has a Stock thing where it shows you the stock's of that company , Google has the translated version of that page , Google has a stable page summary..... What does ATW have?

The Google figure tends not to be updated afaik. Or, updated very infrequently. A lot of threads mention this. It is possible that G really has more pages indexed, and of course also that they do not.

OTOH, FAST/ATW is a quite powerful SE. Imho it is a good alternative, and i do use it a lot personally. For one thing their advanced search simply offers more options.

Poor little gigablast.com is still under 200 million.
But they are the only other page caching around that is current.

But you should look at Gigablast in the bright side:

Only 3 workers, Google,Alltheweb... have more than at least 100 workers.

Only 1 person made it all,Google,ATW... had many people contibute in making their service...

And still, 200 million = 2 billion.

Gigablast is not far from ATW and Google.

Not the first time that ATW had the largest index - they have a name to live up to :)
