How big is FAST in Italy

For pay'd inclusion in FAST i have seen a rise in good positions (some top 5) for keywords with 20-50.000 returned results on serps (excite.it, lycos.it, tiscali.it) but only a minor rise in the number of referrers from these serps.

Does no one use these search engines? Ok, I know the FAST update is only a few days old, but still...

Just read a post on an Italian forum asking has there been a change in Lycos.it and Tiscali as his previously high ranking pages (on fast) were now way down.
May be connected?

Well I read the same post on the same forum I think :) and I can tell you that I didn't notice any changes in results, it seems always the same. Fast is still powering Tiscali ( Excite is owned by Tiscali so.. ) and Lycos too.

May be Google will power these sites but till now nothing new.

But till now we have:

Excite
Tiscali
Lycos

As for recent changes, FAST has updated their index, good for some bad for others. The reason for asking for FAST served search services is that the update was good for me :)

Well honestly I can tell you that doing some searches for keywords related to my clients I found the same results than before. I've not done Fast paid inclusion just the free add-url and I'm positioned in the top 5 or between 5 and 10 ( with keyword that return 150000 results ). I can tell you that I receive about zero from these engines in fact in Italy it's getting really popular Google. Summing results I noticed about 10% from Fast 60% from Google , 12% Virgilio 11% Yahoo ( still Yahoo not Google ) and teh rest from Altavista, Arianna and others.
I don't know if it can help you but that's my experience. I strongly suggest to use Google Adwords in Italy ( good results ).

Considering that Tiscali, Lycos and Excite use Fast, Fast is not so important in Italy.
