I am the first time in this forum, writing from Frankfurt/Germany.
The reason asking you for support is the position of my site.
After paid inclusion with webwurld in July 2002 (Produktname: FAST inclusion) the ranking for most pages was pretty well. (for example: keyword – Pos. 2 – ca. 45.000 matches). …..but today just the index.htm disappeared totally, all other pages of the site remain at their old positions or even listed better.
Is there any explanation or is that normal bad luck?

We've seen some problems lately with FAST and paid pages. In fact we have just had a new member sign up from FAST that has his attention on it:
[webmasterworld.com...]
BTW, remember to read Paynt's Welcome to WebmasterWorld Thread [webmasterworld.com].
I've seen it sometimes with search engines that occassionally they have an outage and corrupt their data, change their ranking algo, or revert to a previously saved version - a little like Microsoft Word!
Therefore I'd advise you not to panic and to give the guys at Fast a week or so to resolve the problem and I'd be surprised if your site didn't bounce back.
The fact that your other pages are still in the database gives me an indication that your domain has not been banned.
Patience is a virtue and all that....

Cheers…..for the frendly greetings and for giving me the good advise to be patient and wait…..probably it will not solve my little problem, but it gave me back hope.
Inbetween I have checked again and found out, that the questioned page (startpage) not disappeared totally. Its just dropped from former pos. 2 to pos. 42. The most other pages of the side increase its rank.
A couple of days ago I have putted into the startpage a link to Google search, in the left above corner of the page, as a formular. Could that be the reason für dropping… strange…no further changes have been made, not in keywords section or other parts of the page.
You mentioned that I can ask direktly with FAST….do you have an e-mail adress where I can get qualified answers.

However, putting the code for the Google search in a the top of the page, could put the content/text that you really want indexed further down on the page. This could maybe cause the shift in your rankings as well.
Remember that everything you do in the html of your page goes into the ranking factor. FAST visits your page on a regular basis and even small chages can have an effect. Maybe not so much that your page would totally disappear, but it certainly has an effect imo.
....probably this "Google-thing" is the reason for the mess. I took it out today....and will see what happens. The hole probleme seem to bee not so tragic because of PFI (..cheers Heini). So I can use the advantage of PFI to be spidered on regular bases.(this sounds like an advertisement...but isn´t realy)
