I keep getting "Fetch Errors" when submitting my .shtml pages with the Lycos IN-Site Select. Does anyone have any idea why this is and if there is a way around it?

hocho, welcome to the board

No I've never heard about problems specifically with shtml pages - but then again I keep hearing all kinds of problems with InSite.
There are lots of users with no complaints at all, and many of those have submitted hundreds upon hundreds of urls.
Still - the problems reported here never seem to match a distinctive pattern...

Anyway - a PFI program should work reliable and stable.

The only way to handle this is of course to go to Lycos customer support - they are the people you have a deal with.

heini,
Thanks for your reply, I have been trying to find an e-mail address for their support with no luck. If you happen to know of one, please let me know. That would be great.

Thanks,
Matthew

Welcome to board Hocho :)

Did it run smoothly through Brett's Sim spider [searchengineworld.com]?

Did it validate ok through the HTML validator [searchengineworld.com]?

If so, the Insite Select should be able to spider your page. Try the support page [help.lycos.com]?

Rumbas:

Thanks for the info. The pages did just fine through both tests. They are re-directs because our main platform is next to impossible to spider and crawl. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I am going to contact support now and see what happens. Have a GREAT day!

So far, keep getting "Fetch Errors," and no response from Lycos Insite Select support. I am going to wait another day or so and then send another e-mail. Have a great day :)

I have 100's of .shtml pages in my site and no problems with insite select on that basis (my ranking is another matter!) so I think it must be something else.

Hocho
>they are redirects

any chance this might cause the fetch error you mentioned?
How's the redirect set up?

They are set up pretty straight forward. One of url's works. I am going to send another e-mail to support and see if I can get a response. Thanks for your help
