I have a site which is clean, and it seems to have been banned from AllTheWeb. At least it's not in there, and it used to be. I've resubmitted several times.

I read somewhere that FAST will ban a server if someone, anyone, on it has been a bad boy. And that it is best to get an independent IP so you aren't penalized for someone else's spamming on a shared IP.

I know google works by the domain name, not the IP for banning. But does FAST? Will FAST actually ban everyone on an IP if there is a bad party aboard? And is there any way to know if this has happened?

astounded, I've been pondering about this for quite a while.
Of course, the sheer fact of being not present in FAST's db doesn't neccessarily mean a site is banned. It might have been dripped for several reasons, of which a server downtime during a crawl is one of the more likely options.

OTOH there has been that comment by FAST people about servers connected to spam.

I'd suggest you use the IP search at ATW to verify if FAST lists any sites from your IP. That should clear things up a bit.
