As I mentioned in the other thread (and I just checked again) we haven't seen an update since the major crawl started at the beginning of June.

I take it that FAST updates in chunks then and dripfeeds the new pages in, rather than in one go like Google? Can anyone confirm that?

I think there is a good chance they will update a good chunk soon. Especially in light of tomorrow's announcement of the new Alchemist search tool. Maybe Tonight ???

alltheweb to answer above. and we have gone from 1 of 353 pages last night and like that for 2 weeks, to 1 of 765 as of this morning Australian Time. We have heaps of recently retitled pages in as well. Its an update for us anyway :)

How does it work w/ newly added pages via InSite?

I just submitted my page today and it says it was spidered...how long usually before it's included in the search results (it's not there now, just checked)?

I can't confirm it for sure, but that would be my guess. I have a new site, site A, that went online just about a month ago. At first it only had one link from one of my other sites, site B. Now it has about 15 other links.

When I use a link popularity checker for Alltheweb, to check the links on the new site, the links from site A and a couple of the other links show up. However, none of the pages in the new site ever show up in the search return listings, even when I enter a very specific 6 word string I know would only be found on one of the pages of the new site.

I know site B has been indexed recently, or the link to the new site would not be showing up. Site B has hundreds of inbound links, including a number from DMOZ and Yahoo listings, so perhaps it is considerd a more important site and gets indexed more often. I suspect that site A just has not been indexed yet because it is a new site with less inbound links, which maybe makes it a lower priority, though hopefully Altheweb will still eventually find it index-worthy.
