Don't have a clue but i can't imagine that FAST would register alltheweb.com with a Yahoo.com email adress.

I agree. A free email address for a major search engine. If they have bought them then this would be some really huge news.

This is a whois entry for a domain name, created on 30-Jan-2002.
AllTheWeb is to my knowledge not even an own company.

FAST is traded at the Oslo stock exchange. The majority of their stocks is hold by two big partners, none of them is Yahoo.

I seriously doubt whois Info is allowed to be published on public boards.

As far as I know, whois information is public info heini.

I'm not sure what the story is here. Whether Fast is just leasing the domain from Barry or what. The yahoo email is nothing fancy.

It would be very strange for them to use Alltheweb.com as a showcase if they didn't own it, right?

But the thing that makes me think if Yahoo owns it, is that a yahoo.com adress is used, not a yahoo-inc.com adress.

Lisa is there anyway to access an old db and see if it existed 1 month ago?

That's the company Mr. Watts has registered the domain name alltheweb,com for, back in 1999 or whenever.

I was actually checking whois for different domains, because of Brett's Mom & Pop thread, to see if the domains where owned by .Inc and i checked alltheweb.com to see if it were registed by John Lervik (CEO of FAST) because Google.com is registered by Larry Page, and since the Yahoo deal should be announced today i thought that Yahoo might have bought alltheweb.com, even thou i know that alltheweb.com is a showcase, i just couldn't resist posting about it.

If it was true, it would have been the biggest SE news this far right?

The old admin email was john.lervik [at] fast.no

Lisa, found a log analysis from a texas website dated 2/18/2002 -> alltheweb.com is listed as registered to Barry A. Watts.

So the changes aren't very recent ...
