I would post the email but Brett doesn't like that and rightly so.

I talking more about the search functionality. However, they may do both at the same time. I not, however, certain about that.

Chris.

Lycos get their results from FAST, and FAST updates some sites every week.
More about the updates here [webmasterworld.com]

Actually Lycos gets it's SERPs from DMOZ, FAST and it's directory. Also, Lycos does not necessary update the same time as FAST, infact the interval is larger.

Actually Lycos gets its results from FAST.

Perhaps your date is Lycos updating its directory that is pulled from DMOZ?

chris_f apart from updating the directory stuff: Fast results are served from FAST's main db - I do not think there's a delay between say alltheweb and lycos results.
At least that's true for Lycos.de and Lycos.com.
There used to be such a delay back last summer, when different lycos versions updated fast results in different intervals.

I'm not saying ATW and Lycos update at different time or that Lycos.com and Lycos.??? update at different times. All I'm saying is that due to the directory's influence on the SERPs Lycos updates more oftern. I know this best 3 people who work for Lycos happen to be v.good friends of mine.

>SERP update.

OK, looking forward to that. Could this [webmasterworld.com] be related?

I see some changes at the FAST db, it looks like they added new pages, didn't update the existing one.

Is it just me or are you also seeing a massive drop when you use the LINK: commando?

Only with AllTheWeb.com, it looks good with Evreka
