While discussing here why Lycos still offers a submission option while being fed by Fast I noticed that the Lycos submission option has changed a lot:
You´re beeing offered a pay-for-inclusion kind of programme named webwurld, which turns out to be from webgravity.
Offer is: inclusion in Inktomi db, as well as submission to google, fireball etc. Complete list [webgravity.co.uk...]
Checked it for Lycos.de and Lycos.co.uk.
I never saw this before.
Puzzling to me is the connection between inktomi and lycos, at least for lycos.de. Or did I miss something here?

edited so that somebody might take notice...:)
https://webgravity.co.uk/secure/lycos/order-de.cfm [webgravity.co.uk] is the url of this offer. Included is a reindexing every 48 hours. They promise not only to get you in all Inktomi fed SEs, but also in Fast powered SEs. This is in direct competition to Fast PartnerSite!

Hey heini, I noticed! Have no idea what's up either. Thought I'd bump the post to see if someone does have some ideas. Maybe nobody's watching Lycos anymore... I'm not.

This webwurld offer on the lycos submit page is a bad joke. What they offer - all decorated with the lycos logo - is inclusion to Ink, plus submission to Fast. Regular free submission.

I bet Lycos.Europe will take that one down sooner or later. From what I've heard Lycos.co.uk as well as lycos.de already take paid submissions, but it's not official yet.
The moment they put that up officially, give it a name like InSite or whatever, the webwurld ad is likely to vanish from their submission pages.
