Hmmm indeed. That gives Terra Lycos two different technologies in the house - AV and Fast, of which they supposedly own 5%. Wonder if they really intend to keep two different db:s going and if not, which technology they will stick with?

Just to clarify Lycos have bought Raging Bull [ragingbull.altavista.com] which is unconnected to AV's raging search. Perhaps AV's marketing dept should have thought that one out a little more!

I think Alta will think twice before trying to enforce it's patents on anything. Many of the old gaurd from the days of Archie and Gopher are coming out of the woodwork now to challenge.
