Noticed the front page of lycos.com has news of their partnership with Terra:

>>Terra Lycos is a new global Internet network operating in 40 countries in 19 languages, reaching 91 million unique monthly visitors worldwide (from press release)

Altavista says they have 1500 million web searches per month worldwide. Not directly comparable but if Terra Lycos visitors make 2.9 searches each (audited MMXI average for Euroseek) then Terra Lycos would have 267 million searches per month.

Seems that Lycos is finally on the way back up there.

> Terra Lycos currently owns 31 percent of Lycos Europe. That will fall to 29 percent when Lycos Europe completes its acquisition of MultiMania (from the article)

Thanks NFFC. That was the figure I had been waiting for. Lycos Europe has clearly become a European company, since the majority is owned by Bertelsmann (Germany) and Spray Ventures together with the Wallenberg group (Sweden). Terra Lycos ownership figure was never disclosed when Spray Ventures sold its Spray portals to Lycos Europe in exchange for new stock. And that cash pile is pretty impressive, they could buy almost anything with that.

Better keep your knees knocking rpking. No point stopping now.
