Can anyone offer their opinion from experience with webposition gold? It isn't a ton of money but I would like to know that it is going to work well. Please share.
Thanks.

hi johnstacy,

i cut my seo teeth using wpg, i believe i was the first to get burnt by google for running automated queries. following a few phone calls and promising never to do it again they unblocked my ip.

as an educational tool i found it very useful. nowadays i do all of my learning at WebmasterWorld.

It help me move from a pr5 to a pr6 and from #13 to #6 on one of my top 3 keywords. It's a VERY competitive word over 190,000 listings on google with a kei of 4, your results of course may vary.

good for accasional rank checks, not much else IMO, though haven't used it in a long time except for rank checks now and then.

I think incywincy had it right >as an educational tool i found it very useful

Once you know how to produce good optimised pages forget about it

I do agree with tigger.

As per my personal experience,

Initially, if you are new to SEO, you would find webpositiongold very helpful to arrange meta tags, alt tags etc. and optimise the site for different search engines.

But once you are experienced, it is your experience that would help and need for webpositiongold remains no more than an educational tool for policies and changes to different search engines. That also you may acquire by subscribing to different newsletters, and forums such as webmasterworld.

You can generate ranking reports for search engines except Google( as per google's policies, you are not allowed to use a search tool like that).

Instead of Google you can choose AOL which gives you the Google ranking that you are looking for.
