I am looking for a log analyzer for an apache virtual server running UNIX. We operate some 75 or so domains, and of those, about 10 of them have sub-domain sites. Is there any software out there that can break it all down from one log file? If not, please give me some alternatives. Thanks so much!

hi johnnstacy1,

i've written a script (win) which does so. this is not real-time so you can only use it afterwards.

for a perfect configuration see apache docs [httpd.apache.org]how to configure your logfiles as needed (how many, which one for which domain etc.).

In Analog you can set the Virtual Domain and thus filter only results for that domain.

hi johnnstacy1,

I use analog, but I re-worked some of the system, and I now have all my domains in a database. Either set as Full Host or Alias, and analog now get's all the logs for the host domains and then for each hosts' aliases. and then can give you virtual host reports etc etc.

very useful, works a treat. (I have it set so every night it runs on cron)

Sticky me for more info/example script

William
