Referer Help

help transferring a referer string to another server.

Our website's main pages are hosted on a "free" hosting provider that doesn't provide CGI/Perl/PHP/SSI...., but I have a second server that does. I have all of my dynamic pages hosted on that second server. My question is, can I take the referer string that gets passed to the first non-cgi enabled server and transfer it to the cgi enabled server so my tracking software can pick it up? Example: person from www.rightnow.com visits www.midmocelebration.org, tracking script is loaded from paul.midmocelebration.org. referer is: www.midmocelebration.org instead of www.rightnow.com. I want the referer to say rightnow.com. Any suggestions?

I program in asp and it would be "Request.ServerVariables(HTTP_REFERER)". Perl and CGI have the same type of thing, but I don't know what it is. Try searching for something like perl http_referer reference or something along those lines.

why dont you host the tracker on the cgi server and call it from the free server via javascript.
