Hello everybody.

I don't know if it's maybe an old question...

I've problems with a website of mine. Day by day new users register, and some of them act like "trolls", you know.

They insult, threaten people, etc. Sometimes I'm able to ban their access via a cookie, even sometimes by IP, though this is not the best method.

I would like to know about your experience in these things. żDid you ever had a case like this? żDid you ever, even, denounced someone to police?

Regards

cyberdark,

an interesting point in your post was that they "register" so some form of sign up and confirmation is required.

so maybe you should be looking at some of the following:

1, No Hotmail type sign ups.
2, Cookies identifying previous sign ups.
3, Sign ups requiring verification (via email)
4, Delayed manual approval (wait 24-48 hours b4 approving them).

at the end of the day, the Hardcore element will always find a way, but make it as difficult as possible, and they will move on to their next victim (which frankly isnt your problem)

:), you're right, just that :( Advertisement is not very ok here (Spain). But that site is not focused on that (maybe one day when things go better)-(U can check it on my profile)

Anyway, traffic if not very high (just 3000 unique visitors a day. +-750000 pages/month), so it might be difficult to make money with this.

Regards.
