Does googlebot "click through"

Does google move from site to site?

When google searches the web, does it actually "click through" the links to the pages and move site to site or does it just index what links are on the page and then it visits them later? I am asking because I see a couple of pages that show as being referrers, but I do not believe many people actually go to these pages, so I am surprised that I am getting traffic from them. These pages are indexed by google, so I am wondering if google is indexing the page and then finding my page from it, making it show up on my referrer log.

I want to know if I am actually getting visitors or if it is just google creating these entries in the log.

Googlebot does follow links from one site to another. I fact the best way to get listed is to have someone link to your site.

Check the user agent of these visits. If it looks something like Googlebot/1.0 (googlebot@googlebot.com [googlebot.com...] then it is googlebot.
