Hi guys,

dont know if this is the right place to post my question, but here it is:

I use awstat which is a really great tool to analyze my traffic. The only thing what i dont like is, that you can see only the 25 top keyword from the search engines, and you dont know what keyphrase comes from which engine.

What kind of tools do you use to answer these question ?

It should run on Linux, and if its free its even better.

Greetings,
Carsten

Could I respectfully broaden out Carsten's question and ask if any page-based 'traffic analysers' are actually frowned-upon or banned by Google?

I am thinking in particular of Java or Meta-based solutions which adds code to the actual web page and sends information on visitors, referers, keyphrases etc. to either the sites' space or space hosted by a third party.

Perhaps the much in demand GoogleGuy could comment on Google's take on code-based traffic analysers?

Cabul, there are many tools, and if you go back through this Tracking and Logging forum you'll find a lot of threads on the subject where just about every one has been mentioned.

25 is not enough, especially without knowing which search engines they're from. There are a lot of free ones, you can find several good ones at hotscripts.com

markd, to my recollection there's never been a report or mention of a problem because of the code on a web page.
