LiveStats 5.x Search Engine Definitions

Any easy way to update them to recognize the latest Search Engines?

Hello All!

Here's my problem. I'm running LiveStats 5.0, and it doesn't recognize a lot of the "newer" search engines -- Google, AllTheWeb, Teoma, etc.

I really don't want to pay the ridiculous cost to upgrade to the latest version because otherwise it works just fine.

Out on the web I've see that there is a new definition file for Web Trends that will make older versions recognize the latest Search Engines. My questions is, does a similar thing exist for LiveStats?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I've got 5.03 (and 6.02 as well) and although the newest version SE categories include newer search engines while the old one does not, you can still track via the referring URLs section on the old one.

One thing I don't like about the new version is that it only allows for 100 items in a listing while the old accommodates 500.

Zoron - You're right, I can see them in the referals area. My clients aren't quite as sharp, however. They ask "Why doesn't Google show up under the Search Engines section". Legitimate question, I guess. I'd like to be able to provide that for them without spending a ton.

Actually mine does. Are you talking about 6.2?

To answer my own question, I finally got a response from the folks at DeepMetrix. No luck. From what they told me, the Search Engine identification is hard-coded in the software -- can't be configured.

Guess that's one way to ensure that your customers keep buying upgrades...
