Is there any stats providers who don't ask you to insert their codes on all the pages of your website in order to track log files.

Also, which one is the best, (in terms of money and quality features)?

Answers please :)

Unless you have access to your server's logs, you have to insert code into your pages.

There are a myriad of packages available for log analysis.

Hi there

If you own WebpositionGold, they have just partnered with Hitslink, and Webposition will automatically add their code to your pages for you (and remove it if you want).

Otherwise, if you use a webpage editor like Dreamweaver, you can insert the tracking code by doing a find and replace.

The way I do it is to do a find on </html> and replace it with <Counter Code></html>

Then hit 'Replace all'.

Nice and easy :)

As CromeYellow indicated WPG association with Hitslink is a very good resource (or Hitslink by itself).

If you do email marketing or newsletter updates hitslinks can help measure their performance in addition to web site tracking.

Adding the code to HTML based email can distinguish between who opened the email and who was indeed interested enough to click through to your associated site page.

This method isn't 100% trackable since firewall obscure originating mailbox, but can go along way to determining ROI.
