WebTrends "none" value

Fix none value in reporting data

I'm having trouble accross several profiles in WebTrends OnDemand Version 8 with a None value appearing in many of the reports.

I'm running paid search campaign and have the tracking string on all the destination urls in the various venues - the WT.mc_id= value - but for some of the data (in one case 50% of the data reported)there just this "none" value. Which could be meaningful data.

I was told that the site isn't passing the WT.mc_id= value to WT and that their needed to be a meta tag for each mc_id on the destination page. However, the page is passing values for some of the traffic. I asked if a meta tag something to the affect of WT.mc_id=* could be included on the page to catch all strings... they did not know.

Has anyone run into this problem and if so found a solution?

the "none" line usually means that you have visits or hits where what you are tabulating does not appear at all. In the case of WT.mc_id it means visits that did not come through a campaign, or at least not one marked with WT.mc_id.

If you can edit custom reports, in the Dimensions tab there is a box you can check for suppressing cases where the dimension is absent. It's usually a good idea to do that, because "none" can be confusing or alarming.
