File name in log file

I have 2 sites hosted on the same server.

The log files of site1 show 'default.asp' page when accessed by either a robot or a visitor ex :
Date Time Etc. GET /default.asp - 80 - IPnumber HTTP/1.0 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Yahoo!+Slurp; .... etc

However, the log files of site2 give a blank space for the default file name ex :
Date Time Etc. GET / - 80 - IPnumber HTTP/1.0 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Yahoo!+Slurp; .... etc

yet the file loads correctly in the browser.
The file name of other pages accessed on site2 are recorded.

Can someone please shed some light on this. Many thanks.

The default file name for site2 isn't blank; it's / . Did you intend that site2 have a default page of / or /default.asp?

Yes, site2 has a 'default.asp' file in the root directory just like site1 that's why I don't understand why site2 does not record the file in the logs but site1 does.

What gets logged when someone makes a request for /default.asp on site2?
