WebTrends not picking up all log files

switched virtual webs and now webtrends wont read files from other vweb

We had two sites on the server. One was the old site and the second
was a new design. After a week of the new design being up (and a new
webtrends profile tracking it) we noticed that it didn't have ssl set
for 443 on the new site.

So instead of setting ssl on the new design we swapped the virtual webs
(changed the path for each one to point the old virtual web w/ ssl to
the new site files and the new virtual web to the old site files). The
webtrends profile wasn't changed since I (stupidly) didn't realize
there would be an impact by doing this.

Now I noticed that webtrends doesn't have the days in the report since
I made this change. So now I have the contiguous daily logs in two
different directories (W3SVC1; initially used by original site... and
W3SVC2 which was the directory for the new design virtual web site).
So I copied the first two weeks of april from W3SVC2 to W3SVC1, do a
re-analyze, yet it still has holes in the (report) three weeks of
April.

I have the log path using a wildcard for the log files
(c:\winnt\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1\*.log) and I've done many
re-analyze's of the logs. I even created a whole new profile to
resolve and it's still not picking up all the logs. When recreating
the profile I'd point it at the old virtual web (now the new design)
and set the log paths to the W3SVC1 directory (where the current log
files appear to be being written).

Is there something unique in the log file that's telling WebTrends
that these files were for another virtual web? How can this be
resolved so I don't lose the log info and can report it properly in
webtrends?

Thanks in advance.

are both logs collecting the same fields, arranged in the same order?

are the domains different and do you have a domain filter?

Explain which data isn't being analyzed --- all the data from the new site? part of it?

>> are both logs collecting the same fields
Both logs are using the same fields (those that are set as default in IIS).

>> are domains different; do you have a domain filter
Domains are the same (we swapped the virtual web sites after a week). After the swap the files started in the other directory (intially W3SVC2 for one week; then logs went to W3SVC1). I don't have any filters set in WebTrends (if I understand your domain filter inquiry correctly)

>> explain what's being analyzed ...
WebTrends is now pointed to the W3SVC1 log folder which is where all the log files are now being written to for the live site. I copied all the log files from W3SVC2 for the initial week the site was live on the other virtual web site into W3SVC1 folder. WebTrends only sees the initial periods activity. Stops showing any activity after the virtual web switch was made. The W3SVC1 folder now has all the contiguous daily logs from the first of the month to today, but WebTrends only shows activity thru the 11th of April. Log files are filled w/ records from 4/12 on and the format is exactly the same.
