an IP spending 21 hours a day on my site

what is going on? (Richmond, VA origination)

would you believe, in my most active visitor stats, this IP 65.55.246.123 spends the most time overall. the IP stats are from Richmond, VA (Microsoft?).

This is very consistent, at least 5 days a week. do I block the IP in my htaccess?

Why would you want to block it?

I don't think you're supposed to reproduce entire IP addresses here, for privacy reasons etc.

Do you have access to your logs? If so, the user agent might give more clues to the identity of the IP.

Also, try seeing if the IP resolves to a domain name - which it does in this case - and it is: msnbot.msn.com .
