I've always been hunting for the low-cost tool that would do what I refer to as Reverse Path Analysis.

What I want to know is that when a person hits a thank you page from placing an order or filling out a form, what search term and engine did they come in on.

I know that GoToast / Atlas does this, and higher end WebTrends tools do it. WebTrends OnDemand I've pretty much given up on but I like the older products.

What I'm trying to do is find something that almost works as good but is more economic for some of my low end clients -- I'd rather put the money in my pocket or put it toward PPC rather than put it in a vendor's pocket.

I'm pretty sure all of the current WebTrends products, including low-end, do it. It's been in their software for quite a few versions now.

If you can find an old copy of WebTrends Analysis Suite Advanced Edition you can get what you want basically for free. It was a great product that pushed out static reports rather than the current interactive ones. I'm not completely sure it will run on recent Windows versions though.
