Using ClickTracks to track internal links

I am using ClickTracks Pro and was wondering if anyone is tracking their internal links by adding variables to them. What I mean is that within ClickTracks you can specify a variable like "from=topnav" and "from=bottomnav" to distinguish which internal links users are clicking on when those same links appear multiple times on the same page. So the link might look like this "/news.aspx?from=topnav" I like this feature, but am worried about the effect this might have on search engine spiders being able to effectively crawl the website. Has anyone used this feature on their website?

We are using ClickTracks Pro as well, and considered tagging the different nav sections as you are.

There would not be a problem with the spider following the links as your have proposed to format them.

However, the thought that prevented me from following through with the tagging was the possibility of spiders thinking that we were employing duplicate content.

So you have your top nav and bottom nav on your home page.

Your top nav links to "greenwidgets.htm?from=top".

Your bottom nav links to "greenwidgets.htm?from=bot".

Will the SE think you are employing duplicate content?
