Counting subdomain traffic from Analytics

Counting the domain name rather than its sub domains

Having problems counting subdomain traffic from (Marketing
Optimisation/Visitor Segment Performation/Referring Source)

If i receive the following visits from these URL's,
[films.products.example.com...] (10 visits)
[furniture.products.example.com...] (5 visits)
[pruchase.example.com...] (2 visits)
[products.example.com...] (3 visits)

The result is i have recieved 20 visits from the website
http://www.example.com

Is there a way in which Analytics can measure the traffic from a URL
this way? Currently i have to manually go thorough all the URL's to add

up the traffic from one website & sometimes this is not pratical.

This problem only seems to occur for websites using subdomains.

Any solutions to this?

You should be able to do this with search and
replace filters. Just rename all the domains to www.widgets.com.

Ok.. let's say the website has several hundred sub domains & i don't know the name for each one - with so many more referals i can't possibly go through the list one by one...

Would there be a syntax i could use which would stipulate all sub domains are counted as a single domain?

I tryed to do that but it does not appear to work,

I did the following;

Custom filter, Search & Replace,
Filter field = Campaign Source
Search String = *\topusajobs.com\*\
Replace String = topusajobs.com

It's not working...

Any ideas?
