Extreme Tacker - How to stop paying for it?

Anyone else still use it?

We've used it for 5 years and have been very happy with the $5 per month, multi page version. We also use Urchin (google) which does almost all of the same stuff, only better. And probably much faster for the visitor.

I'm thinking about terminating Extreme Tracker and removing the cumbersome code from each of our pages. But I don't see any link on their site to cancel and stop payment.

Anyone still using ET? Anyone know how to stop using it?

I just started using it and putting it on all my pages, right at the first round of Google Urchin went live ... so I don't really want to change after all that effort.

I'd be interested in what I'm missing thats better in urchin? The cost of course, but $5 a month is not much and the drill downs are pretty nice in XT.

As of two hours ago, I now have three counters on my index page, Extreme Tracker old and new, plus Urchin. The new ET really looks neat. Probably all anyone needs for a small site. But each page you add it to requires unique and lengthy code. The new ET code is somewhat more compact than the old version, btw.

Urchin has a major advantage over ET in requiring only the same tiny code snippet on each page. You can put the Urchin code in templates so every new page you build automatically shows in your stats. Pages should load a bit faster with Urchin than ET.

ET updates continually but my Urchin updates only once a day. I have no idea whether the three conflict in some way. There should certainly be some small slowdown with three counters.

So how do the three compare in terms of counting visitors? I'll let you know later.

Been running the old and new Extreme Tracker on the same page for two days. They both show the same number of page views. The new version provides much more detailed info.
