newbie Analog questions

How do I see a report like this?

I just downloaded and unzipped the newest version of analog. I ran it using the default cfg file that it comes with and it worked fine, even though this cfg file doesn't show very much. Now I am wondering what exactly I need to add to the cfg file and where to add it in order to see 2 other reports.

The first one, if possible, is to get a report of what search term a person searched for and what search engine they did that search on. For example, something that will show X number of people came to my site searching for "Red Widgets" on Google. So considering that I am working with the default cfg file, what would I need to add to it and where do I need to add it to see a report similar to this?

The second one is to see a list of the top referring URLs. I don't mean like just the domain name, I want to be able to copy and paste the referring URL into my browser and go directly to the page that has the link to my site.

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I don't remember ever being as confused as I just was trying to figure this out myself with help from the help files. =]

You'll need to do some serious editing of your .cfg file. A good place to start looking for answers is to use the "site search" function up top...

But, in the meantime, here's a good place to start:

The second one is no problem, just do it from the manual. you need a keyword such as REFREPORT. Thats off the head.

The first one I think you may need to do a separate .cfg for each engine. For each one filter out all lines that dont come from that search engine. It sounds like a lot of work but its not that much. And for each report you can have lots of other info apart from just keywords. Again the manual is very easy to understand.

I found all I wanted from the example folder > bigbyrep.cfg

and only one .cfg file is needed to run analog for all the search engines

keyplayr. could you sticky mail your info on how to use only one cfg file for all search engines. I know you can do that to do a general report on all keywords for all search engines but i cant see a way to find out what keyword referrals are coming from which search engine separately unless you have different cfgs running separate reports just reporting on one referring search engine each. Thanks a lot.
