Analytics 5 Site Limit

Can I replace sites

I have set up Analytics with 5 sites however this was before they put the limit on it thinking I could add more up to the limit of 50 later. Obviously the demand scuppered this for the meantime.
However there is one site not on it I would really like to track, and one site I have on it I don't really care about.
Question is has anyone deleted a site from Analytics and does it allow you to add a new one back up to your limit of 5? Don't really want to try in case I can't.

I think they're limiting new signups, not limiting to 5. Of course, I'm getting a maintence error right now, so I can't check.

Nevermind, I see the mention of a limit of 5 for current members. I got 6 in before they cut off additions, so I guess that's why the add-link still isn't showing.

Hi bateman

Did you try this in the end? I'm curious to know if it works as I wish to do the same thing, but like you don't want to waste my time if you can't re-add a profile after deleting one.

thanks

are people who have analytics allowed to "invite" people or just Google themselves?

bateman_ap,

Contact Google from within your account. I had to do the same a few weeks ago and they were cooperative (if a little slow) and upped my quota a bit.

You can simply change the javascript over to the new site. Then just edit the profile to make it into the new site name. There is an "Edit" button on the right side of the screen when looking at the "Main Website Profile Information".

The Google Analytics code does not care what site it is on, and you can simply swap it from one site to the other. You will want to keep in mind what date you did the transfer, because obviously any historical data is the old site.

Hope this helps.

I think the invite comes from Google - most likely though your AdWords account.

Well I got a reply from Google saying if I deleted by profile I would be able to add a new one up to the limit of 5 I had before. So went in and deleted it, guess what, no add profile came up! So anyone thinking of doing it, don't!
