Strange referrals sites

Hello All,

This month my stats shows some top referrals which do not have any links to my site and are mostly pronographic sites. I wonder why those sites show up in the referral list. My site is a science related and has nothing to do with pronography. Is there malicious thing going on?

Hello,

it is called referrer spam. A robot travels the web and leaves a URL in your logs. Those bots don't care about the kind of sites they hit. They are just promoting theirs.
