Can anyone help me with tracking urls in iwebtrack? I have asked them for help in the past and they have been slow to respond so I am hoping someone here will know.

How do you 'set up' a tracking url in iwebtrack? For the life of me I cannot see where to enter it. I clicked on the tracking urls link and a page came up saying that "No Tracking or Conversion URLs exist within this date range". How would they know what to look for unless I tell them, so where do I enter these urls to get things going?

I must be missing the point.

When you go to the tracking urls page for the first time there is a search box where you can search for the URL you want to track. Basically any page that has been logged will come up in the search, so if you're looking for "pagename.html" just search for that and view the results.

There is a little icon to the left in each of the results (the same icon that's on the "All Pages" and "Most Recent" areas too).

If you click that icon it will take you to the setup screen for a Tracking URL and you can choose whether you want the URL to be the exact URL or just the base URL idependent of any data in the querystring. At the bottom of that screen there is a "set tracking preference" button. Once you hit that you can go back to the Tracking URLs screen and see the clicks, conversions, visitors, etc.

Thanks for your help.

I have now also got reply back from iWebTrack. They will soon be introducing partial urls so that if you have all your products listed individually on a shopping directory like Froogle, you can also track how well those ads are doing. Right now, you would have to count each product url as a separate ad. And of course there could be thousands of them, depending on the number of products you stock.

I still can't stand it. I want to track this url :
www.somesite.com/pages/home.php?adsrc=abc

which is connected to say a google adwords campaign. But as I have only just set this up in adwords, no-one has ever used this url. So you can't set it up as a tracking url in iWebTrack because in order to do so, you have to search for it in their databases of visited urls, and because it is new, it does not exist.

So - I go and visit it myself, but it still does not appear in the iWebTrack database of visited urls. Why - is there a delay? I don't know. I wish i could afford something more complete.

Yeah, I usually just visit the URL once - good thing to do to make sure the page loads properly anyway. That is kind of irritating though, would be nice if you could just type in a URL from scratch instead of choosing one.
