The most important thing to remember is that version 7.1 is when WebTrends started enforcing certain minimum system requirements without which you can not complete the install of 7.1. So first thing is to make sure that you meet the minimum system requirements. These requirements are different depending on which edition.

Second, why not upgrade to 7.5? This version has very nice new functionality that has been a long time coming with WebTrends.

Also, keep the WebTrends support number handy when you are doing this. :)

Generally the upgrades within version 7 are very easy, not like the upgrades between 6 and 7 which were pretty different.

Hope this helps.

What do you want to know about it and why are you concerned about it?

Don't be worried about the MySQL database. It will be fine.

Also, WebTrends provides a nice utility to repair the database should anything happen to it.

There should be a backup of the system before the upgrade, just in case, but that is just everyday stuff.

I think you will have less problems with this than you think.
