Can I use 'bookmark requests' to link to another webpage?

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if it possible to use the fact that someone has just bookmarked a webpage to link this action to another webpage that displays a thank-you message along the lines of "In thanks for bookmarking this site we would like to offer ..............."
If it is possible I would be grateful to know how to achieve this?

Many thanks for any assistance.

ps. Yep - I am new to this ;-)

Welcome to webmasterworld!

I'm not sure how to do what you want, perhaps javascript can note the action, but I hope not. I'd be annoyed if a site appeared good enough to bookmark and in the midst of reading it I was suddenly redirected elsewhere. While you may see the "thanks" as a bonus, I'd see it as an intrusion. Enough so to delete a bookmark.
