Log status while downloading the file

What happens to hits when I'm moving it to my box?

One of the pages on our site is about the local weather. Today, a hurricane passed by and there was muchos traffic, (happens occasionally). The site is on Apache, hosted by a dependable outfit. My own connection is dial-up.

Today, because the logfile was so large, it was taking up to 5 minutes to download at times, (they zip it every day at 2:00 AM if it's over 1 MB, stick that file in the log folder, and start another one, but you have access to the on-going file the whole time). Is that log file getting added to while my painfully slow download of it is happening, or was I losing hits in the file as it crawled into my desktop?

You get the file as it was when you made the request.

Hey, many thanks you guys. I've been wondering about that for a long time. I should have just tested it by hitting pages while the download was going on, really.
