New to me, but old to you I suppose.
"EmailSiphon" sucked up half my pages, presumably looking for email addresses to spam.
There was an old thread here about this maybe 4 years ago on WebmasterWorld.
Loads of references on other sites too, its a simple email address harvester.

I'm just curious if somebody singled out sites like mine, or if they are on general trawl.

All hits came from the same DNS, which traces back to some Earthlink provider in
Clearwater, Florida. Anyone else see this?

I'm not about to mess with my .htaccess for a flash in the pan. Any advice appreciated. -Larry

A common practice a year or two back was to block user agents starting with "Email" or containing words like "Siphon", "Sucker", ... There should be some old threads here which cover most of them in one line ;)

There are lots of email harvesters out there visiting all sorts of sites, have a look at Project Honeypot.
