Well, it looks like WebTrendsLive is migrating over to the new WebTrends On Demand interface. I was forced to switch to the new interface this morning when logging in to view reports. All I can say at this point is that I'm looking forward to switching over to our new statistical reporting program.

I've been a WTL user for years and I do believe this change is going to have some fallout for them. Part of my feedback that I sent in stated that it looked like a bunch of "statistics geeks" designed the interface with very little consideration for the typical user. Bummer. :(

P.S. There comes a point where interface usability becomes a major factor and I think this new version has some serious issues to address. For those of us who are accustomed to the old interface, it's like a slap in the face. Sometimes software developers take things a little too far. When it comes to statistics, I do believe there is a point where you cross into the "overkill zone".

To each his own. I've used both on clients' accounts and I'd take the new version any day. Can you give an example?

Can you give an example?

Example of? Usability issues? Spawning new windows, frames, etc.

For me, the change in how the information is displayed is major. This will require a new learning curve for users. One that may be steep for some. I come from the "Keep it Simple" mindset and this doesn't look that simple to me. I'm hoping other WTL users can convince me otherwise.

Anytime you have a program like this with as many users as they have, the rollout should be incremental and done in a way where users can get accustomed to the new interface. This is like switching to a whole new program, very little familiarity with the old interface.

P.S. I've been using the old WTL interface for over three years. I know it like the back of my hand, so do my clients who like to view their reports. I'm sure the calls will be coming in today asking me how to do certain things that they were used to doing in the old interface.

If you were on WebTrends Live then you must have known that the On Demand interface has been freely available to explore and get used to for about two years without actually switching your data over. And that WebTrends Live has been completely obsolete for at least one year. WebTrends Live is several generations behind what's available now. What did you expect?

Switched to iWebTrack from WebTrends Live more than a year ago and never looked back. :)
