Google referral: &spell=1

What's that for?

Checking my access_log files, I sometimes see &spell=1 in Google referrals. What does that mean?

1) Is G spell-checking my pages? I kinda doubt that.
2) Is this something the browsing party turns on and off?
3) Is it to pass/deny alternate spellings or typos in the search box?
4) Has anyone ever seen &spell=0? .. or same / similar from other search engines?

Just curious, no biggie. -Larry

If someone misspells a search term (e.g. bule wigdets), Google will ask "Did you mean: blue widgets" on top of the SERP. If the user clicks on that link, Google will search again using the correctly spelled term and will append spell=1 to the end of the URL.

Ahhh! That explains everything. Thanks betterSEO.
I take it 'spell=0' is the default, so it never appears.
This tells me a little more about my visitors.

I wonder if aolsearch has something similar. Virtually none of those people can spell. - Larry
