anyone have any experience with ETracks? It is a tracking system that doesn't require tagging and I need some objective info to assess risk.

i appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Is this the campaign tracking service?

I haven't used them, personally. But these kinds of services that offer a tracking solution throughout the visitors' sessions interests me a great deal.

If you try it I'd be very interested in hearing your feedback.

There are quite a few doing it now. The one thing I don't care for is most of them insist on HTML based email too work. They often imbed img counters, js, and click through counters in your newsletters to track users with.

That fact really burns me too!

There are a lot of pretty good email newsletter delivery systems out there that include logging click-thrus in the html version. But if you try to track click-thrus in the text, at least with the one I'm using now, it changes the url to something that is referring the visitor through the delivery server. It looks totally wrong.

I guess if you setup a simple affiliate-type program you could insert that url in the text version of the newsletter.

...ah, I dream of a soup to nuts solution. Maybe someday :)

i just don't want to rely on there up-time - especially since their website is "still under construction"

smells a little to fishy
