I too need a good online ip to location converter. I tried www.hostip.info but i want to know abt other such sites.

ip-to-country (just google it) is by far the best DB available at this time. It's updated about once a month (it was just updated yesterday) and is far more accurate than anything else I have seen or found.

GeoIP by maxmind is the best. initially We have been forced to disable the GeoIP module [which translates IP addresses into a country of origin. ] This module was causing the web server [apache] software to fail repeatedly. When this happened, accesses to the website received only errors and no content. These failures also caused instability for other users on the same server.

the ppl at maxmind fixed the bug. but it may happen to you if you are using the free version....
