I have a web page where customers can buy items using their credit card, Success rates has dropped due to restrictions on credit cards.
Is there a program that will allow me to see through customer e-mail address who attempted to buy my pruducts but was unable to.?
That way I could contact him/her and let them know some other payment methods.

Thanks

Hi mschumann73,

I guess this would depend on what point the person has given you their email address. If the shopping cart doesn't require it until they get to the checkout page and then they never submit the form, you might be out of luck.

But if the user has registered and then enters into the shopping cart as a registered user you have different options available. You very well might be able to have your cart send you this kind of information.

You potentially could set up the cart so it's a two part form. The first page of the form could be straight contact information. Then the second page would be the payment info. You could have the first page automatically emailed to you so even if they don't fill out the second page then you could follow up with them.

Thank you sagerock.

Ok here is the deal, e-mail field on my page it is required therefore they can't proceed to submit their credit card if they don't fill it out. Now everything is in one single page, I don't want to make things harder for my customers by splitting things on the page. what can you recommend? is there a programa that might help me out.

thanks

Does this mean they are filling out one form before heading to submit their credit card?

If not, I'm afraid the only way you are going to get their email address is if they successfully submit it through a form.

If you are loosing a high level of orders because of credit card restrictions, I would recommend you split your form and at least have them enter their email address before moving into the payment section of the form. They'll only have to enter it once. You can have that field transferred to the second form or even have the mailer culminate the data for you. It's really not a bad idea with anyone's shopping cart. Stranded shopping carts are a big problem.
