On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I get around 1000 uniqes per day. On Fridays and Saturdays I'm lucky if I get 400 uniqiues.
I'm really looking for a way to even out this trend, but people don't think about stocks when they are in weekend mode! Except for me, of course.
Interesting. So teen sites get most traffic on weekends? That makes sense, but how about in evenings after school? On the weekdays after school hours I do get more traffic than during school hours, but have seen that my traffic goes up around 10:00 to 12:00 PM and think it's because of computer classes, where the kids can get on the internet.
I try and maintain my site as a humorous take on current events. I have only recently made a concerted effort to analyze my traffic and the results have been a real eye-opener for me.
Like others, I notice a real dip in 'uniques' over the weekend and things picking up first thing Monday.
A few weeks ago I did a posting about a bigfoot/sasquatch sighting in Northern Manitoba, Canada. To my astonishment this has generated up to 500 'uniques' per day by way of search engine referrals.
The biggest surprise of all though is the sheer volume of URLs that are government or corporate during times when paid employees should be staffing those URLs. This leads me to believe that 'surfing on company time' is a widespread phenomena. To a much greater degree than I would have ever imagined.
I am trying to make the switch from 'network administrator' to savvy 'webmaster' as the jobs and money just aren't there anymore. This site has been a wealth of information since I discovered it a couple of days ago. Maybe now I can make my sites pay and know why they do or don't.
