What would be helpful in framming an answer would be how you determined that the bots are from Adsense instead of Google proper. Are you sure they are not bots that scrapped the Google results and used the link there to find your web site?

I do not understand what you mean. I am an amateur tracking guy and just using awstats to check my stats each day. And the reports says Google Adsense consumes more hits than GoogleBot.
This is what googlebot will put in your site log file
"Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.google.com/bot.html)"
This is what the adsense spider will leave in your site log file
"Mediapartners-Google/2.1"
You may just see using awstats
Googlebot
or
Mediapartners (known as mediabot on forums)
It could be normal if you have recently added adsense to your site and either yourself or your site visitors are requesting a page from your site what has not been indexed by mediabot yet, the idea of this is so you get targeted ads for each of your pages what are relevant to the text on that page.
