Hi,
If I move my site from one server to the other, will I lose the hits and other statistics.

Are site stats attached to the domain name or ther server.

Thanks.

The site stats are with the server.

They are usually in a log file named access_log which can be saved (downloaded to your local PC) before you shut down the first server.

Thanks for the info.

I have a robot.txt file in my directory but I am still hitting robot.txt error in my logs.

I have the robot.txt file in my public_html directory. Is that the right place? I am using Cpanel shared hosting. The server is not mine.

Yep, that's the right place. Just make sure the file is named robots.txt .

If you have established a series of sub-domains then you probably should place a robots.txt at the root of each sub-domain.
I have a robots.txt at the main root but not all my sub-domain roots. I get 404's for those sub-domain roots that don't have one.
It gives you the added advantage of knowing which sub-domains have been spidered.
