How do I set up a hitcounter

Hello. I am unsure how to add a hitcounter to my website to see how much traffic I get. Can anyone tell me how it's done.

Do you want a hit counter? Or would you like to monitor the hits, referals and more on every page with one program?

You may be better off looking into a good stats prgram.
There are various options, what you go with will partly depend on which technology you are using (php, asp etc)

I was just looking to put a hit counter on my index page, nothing too complicated

in that case just do a search in Yahoo or Google for hit counter.
Im sure you will find many solutions.
