I've just started seeing this as a referer on one of our sites:

Could anyone let me know what it is?

Someone looking at the google cached version of your page.
If you have the toolbar - click on the small arrow to the right of the blue info button and select "Cached snapshot of Page".

If you see your page in the serps, click on "Cached" and you get the same thing.

JP, thanks for the reply. Somthing is puzzling me here though, this is comming up as being viewed more often than a lot of our (usually) more fraquented entry pages.

Quite often cached views mean the visitor couldn't find what they were looking for on your page, and so used the cache to try and find out if this is simply because your page has changed, or if it's a long page they might be doing it so Google highlights the keywords.
