Blocking someone from seeing stats?

My hosting company has AW Stats installed on my server. I noticed, when looking at my log files, that someone has been accessing the awstats page.

Is there any way to block someone from seeing this on my end, or must it be done on the server end?

Thanks for any replies.

It depends if the stats file is listed under your domain name - or the server/hosting company.

Many domains have stats under something like:

example.com/stats/

or

example.com/cgi-bin/awstats/

or they could be under:

example.com/someothercode.cgi?=yourdomain.com

if the example.com belongs to you - you can usually add a password using htaccess - if it doesn't - your hosting company will most likely have to do it.

Contact your hosting company and they will let you know.
