Hello....

I've been using WebTrends Log Analyser since 98 for overall site stats reporting as well as the "Ad Clicks" and "Ad Views" to monitor advertiser click throughs from my pages.

My hosting company now offers Urchin and I started using that for overall site stats, but I still need to monitor those advertising clicks. To continue with WebTrends seems overkill (never mind the $) for just one task.

Anyone have any suggestions on an analyser that can report the advertising clicks syntax strings from the log files? Or should I be going about this in some other way?

Suggestions welcomed.

If I understand correctly, you're looking for something to track just the impressions and/or clicks on ad banners or text? I use CentralAd.com, but the two I'd recommend now are [advertpro.com] or [adcycle.com]

I think you must track more than impression and click-throughs. You must also track the actions your visitors takes on your site.

Did the visitor:
Make a Sales Inquiry,
Opt-In to your mailing list,
Subscribe to your newsletter, or Buy something.

Without this information you could rely on your ad serving vendor to provide statistics.
