I got roughly 18k hits on my main site last month from the browser/user agent SURF and I've already got another 14k hits from it this month. Anybody know what it is? I did a search, but it didn't come up with anything other than somebody else asking what it is and nobody knowing. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

What's the whole user agent string. Does it come from one IP , or many?

It comes from different people. Here's the string:
I've blocked it myself - came from various DSL connections on various large ISPs - never acted like a real human or worthwhile spider - probably a client side email harvester.

That's in one of IANA's reserved blocks - I doubt that is the real address.
I replaced the real address with the fake 123.* IP address. They're all home users, not SEs or anything as far as I can tell. Mostly cable/dsl people. Could it be a download manager like Teleport or GetRight or something?

Probably one of the many flavors of 'DSurf' which used to turn up often. A search for DSurf will turn up a lot of sites. See also DBrowse, ESurf, and FSurf.
